The Changed Parenting Experiences of Mothers of Elementary School Students in the Face of the COVID-19 Pandemic

PurposeThe purpose of this qualitative study is to explore the changed parenting experiences mothers elementary school kids living in aftermath COVID-19 outbreak Korea. Methods: From July August 2020, 10 students under were interviewed depth. For data analysis, a phenomenological research methodology suggested by Colaizzi was used.ResultsAccording consisted four categories: ‘pain from uncontrollable COVID-19’, ‘the problem family relations due pandemic situation’, ‘standing firm against drastic changes’, and ‘accepting world COVID-19’.ConclusionThe findings vividly represent after COVID-19. As persists, feel complex emotions experience exhaustion, but process, they found members growing positively trying adjust each other overcome crisis. To support positive adaptation catastrophic situations, an institutional political foundation needed develop systematic crisis management program customized for families students. The results can be used as basic when establishing national policies systems so that better adapt situations.
